US inflation expectations at record high in June

The New York Fed’s Survey of Consumer Expectations shows inflation expectations at a record high.

At a one-year horizon, the median inflation expectations measure increased to 6.8 percent in June, up from 6.6 percent in May, a new high. Inflation expectations at the medium and longer term however posted a decline.

Households’ assessments of their current financial situation deteriorated in June as more respondents reported being financially worse off than they were a year ago.
